lauren, josh & james

the three musketeers. lauren and josh are twins and james is their superstar older brother. seriously, he is going to be famous some day. i’ve had the pleasure of photographing them on a few occasions and just love capturing the special moments between siblings and them as individuals. lauren has a light and grace about her that warms any room she enters and josh has a loving, gentle spirit which reminds us all to embrace life with open arms. and james, i’ll be cheering for you when you hold your Oscar.

michelle

i love photographing men, women and children. each have a quality all of their own. each woman’s aura is unique and i find that the more in touch with who they are, the greater the light that shines forth. michelle was a delight to photograph. not shy in front of the camera, but slightly unsure of her beauty. the camera shows what the world knows, she is beauty through and through. a good soul, a loyal friend and a passionate mother. beautiful inside and out.

aria

aria was born exploring. it’s just her nature. she is quite possibly the most calm baby i’ve ever come across. she’s a constant observer, taking in people, places and things. she is fascinated with shoes and can’t possibly make it through a store without loving on everything you want to purchase. when the giggles start, it’s because she’s in her element and she’s ready to shine. she has a genuine, loving spirit and a gentleness that warms you from the inside out.  already a world traveler, she’s collecting treasures behind those irises, for her eyes have seen more in a few short months than many do in a lifetime.

silver white winters that melt into springs

Atlanta is not known for it’s winter wonderland, but you’d never know that with all the current snowfall we’ve experienced. I am not complaining. I love the crisp air, the smell of fireplaces and snow days. Most importantly, I love watching my daughter experience it all through the eyes of a child. With each flake, her anticipation mounts and before you can say hats and mittens, Gaia is dressed and ready to go out and explore its powdered perfection. We are very lucky here, in that we get to experience all the beautiful of snowfall, but it comes and goes relatively quickly. Unlike my years in NYC, we don’t have to spend weeks sloshing through the muddied leftovers of a winter’s storm. Although I didn’t mind it too much then either. I’m a sucker for some hot coffee, snow boots and a walk in the city. My daughter may be a little like me…..

gaia

My daughter inspires me. From the moment I found out I was going to become a mom, she has inspired me. I wanted to give her a name that I knew held some responsibility, but at the same time, I wanted it to also be open to interpretation ~ for Gaia is a goddess in so many languages and religions. She is a mother to earth and all its creatures. I wanted my child to be aware of her surroundings and compassionate about others. I really couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful gift than the gift of Gaia. She is a free spirit, a bird in flight, a soaring rainbow of light in even the darkest of days. She finds humor in the most mundane moments and shows grace in the most fragile. She has taught me to see the beauty in every person I meet and she believes in me. I am so lucky to be her mommy.
